Seal Beach EP by The Album Leaf

The Album Leaf is a small American band, who I can only describe as “sigur ros remixed”. This is an unfair comparison, however, as they have their own unique sound.
Sometimes it isn’t just the songs that make an album great- the way the album plays as a whole is also provides an important part. Seal Beach has a good solid base of listenable songs, sprinkled with a few fantastic ones, which leads to a really good listening experience.
The first track (Malmo) is one of these terrific songs. It starts with a simple beat and ends as a full, rich sound- all in all, a excellent track.
With these great songs scattered throughout the album (tracks 1, 5, 8 and 10), you might think that you will end up just skipping to these ones. This doesn’t seem to happen when I listen to it, though. Each track has its own merits and I like and am willing to listen to any track on this album.
This is a truly fantastic album, one which you will put on and then listen all the way through, because there are no bad tracks. In the current single-driven music industry, this is very rare.
The reason I haven’t given this 10/10 is because although all the tracks are good, and the listening experience is great, something must be truly wonderful in order to get 10, by my reckoning.
